As you all know there are a ton of horses in the market. Everyday on the chat and boards I see "Save the Market horses there's too many of them!" and every time I see that I just think to myself - there's one main reason they are all there. It's because of people who have a mare or stallion that reaches level five and they're so excited because they can finally breed it! They really don't want the foal like they think they do, all they want is the joy of breeding their horse for the first time. Once the foal is born they realize that they don't want the foal because it's so low leveled, so they go on the chat "Foal for sale will go to market if not sold!" and then no one buys the irresponsibly bred foal and it winds up in the market until maybe someone buys it. Some horses spend their whole AVH lives in the market just because the owner wanted to breed his or her horse. So why are these irresponsible breeders trying to encourage people to save market horses when it's them who put them there in the first place? Luckily, there are some players on here who take on the challenge of training a low level foal to being one of the best stallions or mares (maybe exaggerating a little) on AVH. Besides irresponsible breeding, there are people who think that they can buy a store horse and train it to a high level. Despite their intentions, (most of the time) all that happens is it ends up in the market and likely stays there for the rest of it's days.

So here is a very important message to all of you. Check and see what level your foal will be before breeding horses. (Just by doing that, you are being very responsible and probably just saved a foal from a trip to the market) If you buy a store horse and plan to train it, carry out on that plan or at least get it to a higher level so someone will take it in.

So just remember before you breed… whatever level your mare and stallion are depends on the level of the foal and if you want others to think you are a responsible breeder, check the level and make sure it's the one you want so it doesn’t end up in the market.

Try to be a good citizen to AVH and BREED RESPONSIBLY!!

I find the best horses in the market. About 90% of all the horses I've had since I started playing have been rescues. They've all been under level 3 and they end up being some of the top horses of their breed. Then other players start going off on us how we aren't letting them breed to our horses with their level 5 horse.
I do wish others would think first before they decide to breed. Then maybe some of us would be more willing to accept outside breedings.

I don't usually take horses out of the market, but not all of those horses are bad, either. If people just took the time to take a foal or something out of the market, it might turn into a great horse.

My lv. 34 retired VH started out as a lv. 3 when she was born, and look at her now! Highest of her breed. Just goes to show that all horses have greatness in them if you put them to the test.

Awesome article btw ^-^

I is amazing what you find in a market I even found a level 30 clevland bay stally but I must agree I is sad. And even if you want to get some room put a high level horse. But it is creul putting a low leveled foal in the Market.

I totally agree with this article. I have seen to many players breed irresponsibly with their horses. On my other player, I adopt horses from the market, then train them to at least level 10, then sell them, but NOT to the market. And I think it is cruel of players to buy a store horse, thinking they can train it up to a high level, and when they can't, they just send it to the market, usually as a level 1 with 0 xp! i feel bad for these poor horses.

That's great. But though I don't agree with the gelding of the hourses. Which im sure most of you noticed half of the market horses or more are gelded. And if you ask most people on here they will tell you they don't really want geldings. So what is happening to those horses? suffering in the market because no one wants them because the are a gelding.. am I right? As :Kara: stated, that her horse was level 3 and now is level 34, well can't those horses that are gelded and thrown in the market also be that as well. I think I would rather see the horses be deleted than suffer in the market. But do you honestly agree with the gelding of stallions and then having them be thrown in the market? Think about it....

this is a problem i have latley been rescueing horses and selling them for the same price to ppl who want them. i don't raise levels and i have a friend who will take them if i can't fin them a home. {~~~Spread Your Wings~~~} has a rescue stable and anyone interested in lvl 20 or above horses needs to see her.
