As you all know there are a ton of horses in the market. Everyday on the chat and boards I see "Save the Market horses there's too many of them!" and every time I see that I just think to myself - there's one main reason they are all there. It's because of people who have a mare or stallion that reaches level five and they're so excited because they can finally breed it! They really don't want the foal like they think they do, all they want is the joy of breeding their horse for the first time. Once the foal is born they realize that they don't want the foal because it's so low leveled, so they go on the chat "Foal for sale will go to market if not sold!" and then no one buys the irresponsibly bred foal and it winds up in the market until maybe someone buys it. Some horses spend their whole AVH lives in the market just because the owner wanted to breed his or her horse. So why are these irresponsible breeders trying to encourage people to save market horses when it's them who put them there in the first place? Luckily, there are some players on here who take on the challenge of training a low level foal to being one of the best stallions or mares (maybe exaggerating a little) on AVH. Besides irresponsible breeding, there are people who think that they can buy a store horse and train it to a high level. Despite their intentions, (most of the time) all that happens is it ends up in the market and likely stays there for the rest of it's days.
So here is a very important message to all of you. Check and see what level your foal will be before breeding horses. (Just by doing that, you are being very responsible and probably just saved a foal from a trip to the market) If you buy a store horse and plan to train it, carry out on that plan or at least get it to a higher level so someone will take it in.
So just remember before you breed… whatever level your mare and stallion are depends on the level of the foal and if you want others to think you are a responsible breeder, check the level and make sure it's the one you want so it doesn’t end up in the market.
Try to be a good citizen to AVH and BREED RESPONSIBLY!!
